Chapter 1 alone has exciting prospects with Matthew Goode and Mia Goth as part of the Raymond family that first encounters the house. Also included in the cast is Miranda Richardson as Aunt Clarice (via Deadline). Goode, Goth, and Richardson have all had experience in the macabre. Now, as they’re getting further into their prolonged flirtation, I’m biting the nails on every single finger back and forth, back and forth, like I’m an anxious cat in a Looney Tunes cartoon. At the end of the series, it's House's most important relationship at stake when James Wilson reveals he has inoperable cancer. Despite being an oncologist, he rejects the conventional therapy for his thymoma and instead gets House to agree to try a short course of radical chemotherapy in order to shrink the tumor and make it operable. Wilson survives the treatment, but it doesn't work - the tumor remains inoperable, meaning that without treatment, Wilson will survive no longer than five months and, even with treatment, three years would be an exceptional lifespan. House and his team face a disciplinary hearing with Dr. Cofield (Jeffrey Wright) after a chemistry teacher (David Anders) is admitted to the hospital with paralysis.
However, when they all fail, he comes up with the craziest scheme yet - faking his own death. This one works and he has the pleasure of texting Wilson during his own funeral to tell him to shut up. The two men head off on motorcycles to enjoy the rest of Wilson's life and House's death. House gets the money to re-fund his department by pawning a piece of hospital equipment to bet on the market. He also helps Park avoid getting fired for hitting her previous boss. Chase eagerly returns, and even Taub prefers the excitement of saving lives to the routine of fixing noses.
Meanwhile, Taub decides to assist Foreman in his romantic affairs, and Park eventually starts to realize she needs to open up herself to the other people. The team takes the case of a teenage girl (Madison Davenport) presenting with anaphylaxis but soon discover that her condition is far more serious when it is discovered that she is pregnant but claiming to be a virgin. House goes to an AA meeting to meet a man whose 4-year-old son has died and his wife divorced him. Determined to find out what happened to the boy, House bribes the cemetery owner to examine the remains of the boy, even as Foreman instructs him to keep on the case. A teenage boy (Harrison Thomas) attempting to follow in his deceased father's footsteps suffers paralysis at a party. As the team searches for answers, they discover a family secret that threatens the young boy's treatment.
With the stop-motion animation, the characters are also followed by creepy happenstances and disturbing imagery. House begins in the clinker and ends on the open road during a sensitively rendered final season that finds the emotional heart of this medical series without sentimentalizing the difficult doctor at its center. Meanwhile, with House spending more time with Wilson, the team find themselves increasingly on their own. Chase starts to take the lead on the team, but when they treat one of his rivals, a doctor who was also up for the fellowship Chase received, Chase begins to re-examine his life and decides to leave the team at the end of the case. Finally realizing that he doesn't have to be exactly like House to be a great doctor, he starts using his own strengths and solves yet another case.

Meanwhile, House becomes obsessed with finding out if Taub's two daughters are, in fact, actually Taub's. Paige heads to the bathroom to check on Gabby as Danielle leaves.
